About LM Fire & Security

LM Fire & Security Inc. is a licensed and insured fire alarm and low-voltage contractor based in Brooklyn, New York. The company is owned and run by Laurence Moore, an electrician by trade with more than 15 years of hands-on experience on New York City job sites.

Built on years in the field

Laurence started out as an electrician and spent years working on commercial and residential projects across the city before making fire alarm systems his specialty. He has installed, wired and terminated systems of every size, from device additions in a single tenant space to building-wide systems in high-rises. That experience led him to earn his New York State Security & Fire Alarm Installer license and build LM Fire & Security around the same standard he’s held himself to on every job.

Where we’ve worked

Our experience covers a wide range of building types and project conditions:

  • Schools: multiple projects, often in occupied buildings with tight schedules
  • High-rise buildings: including riser and building infrastructure work
  • Office spaces: layouts and tenant fit-outs
  • Theaters
  • Banks
  • Retail stores
  • Hotels

Every one of these settings comes with its own challenges, whether it’s working around occupants, meeting strict schedules, or coordinating with a crowded site. We’ve handled them all.

What that means for you

Because we come from the electrical trade, we understand the whole job, not just the devices. We read the drawings, work alongside electrical contractors and GCs, and coordinate with the other trades on site. Whether you need a full system installed or a crew to take the fire alarm scope off your plate, you get someone who’s done it many times before.

Licensed and insured

We hold a New York State Security & Fire Alarm Installer license and carry business insurance. Certificates of insurance are available on request for GCs, property managers and building owners.

Who you’ll work with

When you call LM Fire & Security, you talk to Laurence directly, not a call center or a salesperson. He’s involved in every job, from the first walkthrough to the final test.
